User Roles in LawY

LawY uses role-based access to control what users can see and do. Each role is designed to balance security, privacy, and productivity.


Admin

Admins have full access to all settings and features in the LawY account. They are responsible for managing the account. Admins can

  • Access the Admin page.

  • Edit and update firm details.

  • Manage and modify Cloud storage (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive) connections.

  • Select and Manage folders in the Cloud storage (One Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive)

  • Access the billing page and manage current subscriptions.

  • Update payment methods and view/download invoices.

  • Manage permissions and access levels.

  • Add, remove and assign roles to users


Staff

Staff members have restricted access compared to Admins but can perform their day-to-day tasks. They do not have access to Admin settings. Staff can

  • Access the My Account page.

  • Edit and update account details.

  • Reset passwords.

  • Link their Outlook account.

  • Use all LawY features on the home page relevant to their tasks

Note: Staff members cannot view the Admin page or make changes to roles, billing, or system settings.


User (No Role Assigned)

Users without any assigned role will not have access to the LawY. They are excluded from using LawY until they are granted the appropriate user role.
