Updated over 2 months ago

When connecting a storage solution, the way Matters are organized in CORTO reflects your existing folder structure in that storage solution. For guidance on how to best structure your folders for Matter management, see the Organizing your Dropbox folder structure for CORTO article.

1. Connect Dropbox During Startup

When you first start CORTO, connecting a storage solution is required to access Matter folders and enable Matter AI Chats. Follow these steps to connect your Dropbox:

  1. Click "Connect" on the startup screen to begin linking your Dropbox account.

  1. Click "Continue" when prompted to log in to your Dropbox account to authorize CORTO to access your folders.

  1. Enter your email account and click "Next"

  2. Enter your password and complete any additional authentication steps required by Dropbox. (This is a Dropbox process, not handled by CORTO).

  1. Once connected, a pop-up screen will appear to import your Matter folders.

πŸ’‘ Note: If for any reason you haven't connected your storage solution, you can always access it later by navigating to your Profile icon (top left) β†’ Account Settings β†’ Admin.

2. Import Matters Setup

After connecting your Dropbox, you'll need to select the folders containing your matters to make them available in CORTO. Both My Files and Shared Files are available options. Either can be used depending on where your matter folders are stored.

  1. In the Import matters pop-up screen, there are two folder categories: My Files and Shared Files

    1. My Files: Folders that belong to your account

    2. Shared Files: Folders shared with you by others

  1. Click the checkbox next to the folder(s) you wish to import.

    1. Selected folders will appear at the bottom left of the pop-up screen.

  2. Once you have selected all desired folders, click "Next" on the right side of the screen to proceed.

  1. Once the connection is successful, a confirmation message will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen

    1. You will be typically taken back to the Home Page, where your Matters will begin loading in the Matter List on the left side of the screen

πŸ’‘ Note: Occasionally, you may not be redirected automatically, in that case, navigate back to the Home Page manually to view your Matters.

3. Access or Manage Dropbox Later

Once your Dropbox is connected, you can Manage or Disconnect your Dropbox at any time:

  1. Click the Profile Icon in the top-right corner of CORTO

  2. Select Account Settings

  3. Click Admin

Click Manage to select or deselect Matter folders. This opens the Import matters pop up screen.

Click Disconnect to remove the linked Dropbox folder. You'll receive a warning message to confirm before disconnecting.

πŸ’‘ Note: Disconnecting a folder will disable Matter AI Chats for the Matters in that folder.
